Megan Park says ‘true pro’ Miley Cyrus is ‘fine’

TORONTO — Canadian actress Megan Park said Monday she still respects singer Miley Cyrus, whose sexually-charged MTV Video Music Awards performance last month came under fire around the world.

Park, 27, starred with Cyrus in last year’s straight-to-video comedy So Undercover.

“She was so professional and so prepared. A true pro to work with,” Park recalled during an appearance on Global’s The Morning Show. “She goes off and she has fun but she does her work so who can blame her?”

The Ontario-born star said Cyrus — who spent part of her childhood in Toronto —  is “fine.”

“She’s just growing up and she’s experimenting,” said Park. “Everyone does that — just not everyone has to do that in front of the whole world.”

Park, who enjoyed a five-year run as Grace on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, attended the premiere of The F Word at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Chosen as one of TIFF’s Rising Stars, she appears in the made-in-Toronto film opposite Daniel Radcliffe.

“The first day I worked with Daniel I had to literally lick his face,” she recalled. “So that was a little awkward.”

Park has been dating One Tree Hill star Tyler Hilton since the two worked together on the Toronto-shot 2007 film Charlie Bartlett.
