The Peterborough Police Service closed the intersection for several hours for an investigation.

On Tuesday morning police said the teens had been approached on the sidewalk on Chamberlain Street by a woman upset they were on her property. The woman allegedly grabbed a knife and struck out at the teens.

“One teen was injured when he tried to grab the knife from her,” police stated.

Police said the boys took off from the area and a short time later were struck by a vehicle.

The investigation led to the arrest of the woman.

Brittany Norrad, 24, of Peterborough, was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm

She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in Peterborough on Oct. 20.
