SAINT JOHN – A New Brunswick judge has ruled that redacted versions of a search warrant and production orders in the homicide investigation of businessman Richard Oland should be released.
The decision from provincial court Judge R. Leslie Jackson comes after a hearing Thursday on what information should be blacked out before the documents, which are dated Sept. 7, 2012, and Oct. 2, 2012, are made public.
Jackson also says redacted versions of the transcripts of in-camera testimony last summer by Saint John police Const. Stephen Davidson, the lead investigator in the case, should be released.
Oland’s body was found in his Saint John office on July 7, 2011.
Portions of search warrants made public in May say his son Dennis is the suspect in the slaying.
Dennis Oland has not been charged and no arrests have been made since Oland was found dead.
