WINNIPEG — A woman at the University of Manitoba got a big surprise, and some prizes, thanks to her respect for recycling, and a province-wide recycling program.
The video shows the scene just outside University Centre on Thursday morning.
An empty can was placed on the sidewalk, not far from the recycling bin, as a test to see how long it would take someone to pick it up and toss it into the Recycle Everywhere container.

“The recycle everywhere magic bin is to show that recycled beverage containers are full of potential as long as they’re recycled and not ending up in the landfill,” said Arielle Gurveich of Recycle Everywhere.
“They can be turned into new products such as bikes, airplane parts, patio furniture and jackets.”
