The driver of the semi-truck wasn’t injured, RCMP said.

RCMP said several reports came into police as early as 9:30 p.m. that the SUV was driving erratically coming from the Athabasca area on Highway 813.

Officers in surrounding detachments, including Westlock and Morinville, were notified.

As officers were trying to locate the SUV, the collision occurred, RCMP said.

The SUV appeared to be southbound on the highway when it swerved into the oncoming lane and collided with the northbound semi, RCMP said.
