Montreal police say that three men arrested in connection with the possible abduction of a 16-year-old girl Monday night are expected to face charges.
Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture said the three men appeared in Quebec court via teleconference Tuesday night, but were not charged.
A second court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday at it is expected they will be formally charged then, Couture said.
A fourth individual who had been arrested has since been released.
The teenaged girl was inside a restaurant located on St-Charles Boulevard in Montreal’s Kirkland borough when the incident occurred.

Couture said they were alerted to the situation by a 911 call just after 11 p.m. on Monday.
Preliminary information gathered by police indicates the girl appeared to have been forced into a vehicle by a suspect. They then fled the scene before the arrival of police.
Fearing for the teen’s safety, the major crimes unit launched an Amber Alert Tuesday morning at around 6:20 a.m.
Couture said she was found “safe and sound,” after presenting at a local police station following media coverage.

All three men, including the 22-year-old man who was identified in the alert, are currently in police custody.
The SPVM sent out the Amber Alert for the Montreal area at around 6:20 a.m.
Montreal police thanked the population for their help in the event.
