One man is dead and another driver was taken to hospital after a serious collision between a semi and passenger vehicle on Highway 16 two miles west of Kandahar, Sask.
Wynyard RCMP say they responded to the call around 12:45 p.m. Friday. RCMP say the semi was travelling east and the car was travelling west on the highway when the collision occurred.
The lone driver of the car was pronounced dead on the scene and the male semi driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Both lanes of the highway in the area were blocked and detours were in place. The highway has since reopened.

The RCMP and a collision reconstructionist continue to investigate.
