CALGARY – Two homes have been badly damaged by a fire in the community of Taradale, early Thursday morning.
The blaze started around 1 a.m. in the 50 block of Tararidge Drive N.E.
Crews found two houses engulfed in flames when they arrived, and twelve people who had managed to safely escape the four homes involved.

Firefighters did have to alert one sleeping resident to the fire, but managed to get them out of their home safely.
One woman in her 60’s was rushed to hospital after complaining of chest pains while watching the fire from across the street.
Of the four homes impacted by the fire; one has been completely destroyed, one suffered extensive damage to the roofs and walls, while two others received smoke damage.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
