The riding of Fleetwood–Port Kells is projected to remain Liberal in this 2021 federal election.
At 9:20 p.m., with 148 out of 210 polls reporting, incumbent Ken Hardie was projected to win again with 46.1 per cent of the vote.
Conservative Dave Hayer was second with 29.2 per cent and NDP candidate Raji Toor third with 19.9 per cent.
Fleetwood–Port Kells was an interesting race to watch this election and was one of about half a dozen Metro Vancouver ridings the Liberals and Conservatives would be battling over.
Conservative Nina Grewal held it for more than a decade before she was defeated by Hardie in 2015.
Hardie was re-elected in 2019, edging the Conservatives’ Shinder Purewal by 1,883 votes – a margin of 3.9 per cent.

Hardie was a political newcomer four years ago, with a background as a broadcaster and spokesperson for ICBC and TransLink.
The Liberals have historically not done well south of B.C.’s Fraser Valley. But 2015 was an anomaly, as they picked up seven seats in the area, including this one.
The riding comprises an area of Surrey from the Fraser River in the north to the Serpentine River and 68 Avenue in the south, and from 144 Street in the west to the city’s eastern border.
