OSOYOOS, B.C.; The BC Wildfire Management Branch has fully contained the Spotted Lake wildfire near Kilpoola, about 10 km West of Osoyoos in the Richter Pass.
What ignited the 20 hectare wildfire is under investigation, but is believed to have been human caused.
Firefighters worked through the night to contain the blaze. A wetline has been built around the fire’s perimeter and hot spots are being extinguished within the boundaries.

There were six homes where residents were evacuated to safety due to the threat from the flames Monday night, but all residents returned home by late evening.
The Wildfire Management Branch has 10 firefighters at the Spotted Lake fire. At the height of the incident, 35 firefighters, two helicopter and five airtankers actioned the blaze.
