Winnipeg police said there were concerns around a possible gas leak in the area.

The convention centre is currently the location of a COVID-19 “supersite” vaccination clinic.

Anyone with an appointment from 4 p.m.-onward will be able to get their vaccine as scheduled.

In a post on the Manitoba Government Twitter account, the province said roughly 1,300 people were affected by the temporary closure.

The province asks anyone who missed their appointment as a result of the closure to reschedule by calling calling 1-844-626-8222 (1-844-MAN-VACC) or visiting the province’s website.

New appointment times will be added to the province’s booking system Tuesday morning so those requiring new appointments can re-book as soon as possible, the province said.
