Two men injured in explosion near Fox Creek

EDMONTON- Two men were taken to hospital Saturday- one in critical condition- after an explosion near Fox Creek.

Two STARS Air Ambulance helicopters were called to an explosion and fire at an industrial site west of Fox Creek around 2:45 p.m. Saturday.

Colin Fast, a spokesperson with STARS, says both men were initially taken by ground ambulance to Fox Creek Hospital.

One of the men was in stable condition and remained at the hospital, Fast said in an email Sunday afternoon.

The other man, a 26-year-old, was in critical condition and flown by STARS to the Edmonton International Airport. From there, the man was flown, by plane, to Calgary for treatment at Foothills Medical Centre.

The men’s names have not been released.
