Bloc Québécois candidate Sébastien Lemire is the projected winner in the riding of Abitibi–Témiscamingue.
The riding is located in the southwestern part of Quebec along the Ontario border. It includes a number of reserves, including Timiskaming, Pikogan and Eagle Village First Nation-Kipawa.
Sébastien Lemire of the Bloc Québécois won the seat in 2019, after NDP Christine Moore did not seek re-election. She had held the seat since 2011.
Lemire faced backlash in April 2021 after taking a screenshot of Liberal MP William Amos, who was caught nude during a virtual Parliament meeting. He has since apologized.
The riding is heavily francophone, with 94.9 per cent of the population identifying French as their mother tongue.
