PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. – A Cape Breton man charged with second-degree murder in the disappearance of a fisherman whose body was never found has been granted bail.

Dwayne Matthew Samson of D’Escousse appeared Tuesday in Nova Scotia Supreme Court in Port Hawkesbury where he was released on $60,000 bail and a number of conditions.

He had been denied bail during a court appearance in July.

The 43-year-old is one of three men charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Phillip Joseph Boudreau, who was last seen June 1 in Petit-de-Grat harbour.

A woman has also been charged with being an accessory after the fact in the case.

Samson is due in court for a preliminary hearing Nov. 26.
