PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. – Three Nova Scotia fishermen charged with second-degree murder in the death of a man who went missing in the waters of a Cape Breton harbour have had their cases set over until next month.
Dwayne Matthew Samson of D’Escousse is due in court July 4.
Two weeks have also been aside starting Nov. 25 for the 43-year-old man’s preliminary hearing.
Samson’s father-in-law, 65-year-old James Joseph Landry of Little Anse, and 40-year-old Craig Landry of Petit-de-Grat are due in court on July 22.
The three men were charged after another fisherman, 43-year-old Phillip Boudreau, went missing in the area around Petit-de-Grat on June 1.
Boudreau’s overturned boat was later found at the mouth of the community’s harbour, but his body has not been recovered.
Police have alleged there was an altercation over lobster traps between the fishermen before Boudreau went missing.
