RCMP said officers were first called to a home in the 22000-block of Rathburn Drive around 4:45 a.m. to assist in traffic control as a house was on fire.

Two people, who have not been identified, were subsequently found dead inside of the home, police confirmed.

Police tape is up in the area and the road is closed.

IHIT said they have now determined a burned black BMW SUV reported shortly after the fire in Richmond near 16 Avenue and 194 Street in Surrey is believed to be associated with the homicide.
