Escaped 4-foot python in North Vancouver still not found, no danger to public

The Ministry of Environment says the four-foot python that escaped from a North Vancouver home on Wednesday has still not been found, but it poses no danger to the public.

Conservation Officers say the snake is believed to be a Ball Python and is therefore not prohibited or restricted under the Controlled Alien Species legislation.

The snake in non-venomous. The Ministry says it is now up to the owner to find the snake.

Snakes have been in the spotlight recently, after an escaped African Rock Python killed two boys in New Brunswick.
