Gallery: Ariel Castro’s home demolished, removed from Google Street View

The house where three women were held captive and raped over a decade was demolished in Cleveland Wednesday morning.

Ariel Castro was sentenced last week to life in prison plus 1,000 years after pleading guilty to hundreds of charges related to the kidnapping and rapes of the women.

Earlier this week and prior to the demolition, Google blurred Castro’s home at 2207 Seymour Avenue in Cleveland from its Street View.

Michelle Knight handed out yellow balloons to neighbours to thank them for their support, hours prior to the demolition.

Knight, along with Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus, escaped from Castro’s home in May. The three women disappeared separately between 2002 and 2004.
