The Calgary Police Service Traffic Unit is investigating after a man was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday.
Police said the collision happened along 17 Avenue at 42 Street S.E. before 9:30 p.m.
Officers said the victim was critically injured and rushed to hospital. The driver, a 47-year-old man, stayed at the scene, police said.
On Wednesday morning, police said the victim, a man in his 30s was crossing “against the light” and said alcohol may have been a factor.
“Neither alcohol, drugs nor excessive speed are believed to have been factors for the driver,” police said.
