Saskatoon teen returns home with crown

SASKATOON – She went to Toronto last week as Miss Teen Saskatchewan.

Jillian Martin is now returning home as Miss Teen Canada.

Martin, an 18-year-old University of Saskatchewan arts and science student, beat out 64 other competitors for the title on Saturday.

Martins was also chosen Miss Photogenic.

She had been crowned Miss Teen Saskatchewan last February.

Martin was chosen as the national winner based on scoring in several areas: personality, communication, stage presence, charm, academics, commitment to the community, beauty, fitness and confidence.

In addition to her studies, Martin is a cheerleader with the U of S cheer team and Prairie Fire cheerleading and coaches two teams.

Along with the crown and title, Martin will receive over $25,000 in cash, prizes and scholarships and will represent Canada at international competitions.
