Emergency services have found a missing 73-year-old in the area of Lake Echo, N.S.
John Shannahan of Dartmouth, N.S., went missing at approximately 5:30 p.m., Wednesday after getting separated from a friend while picking blueberries south of Highway 107 between Lake Echo and Grand Lake.

Halifax Search and Rescue, as well as RCMP, Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency, Halifax Regional Police, and the force’s K9 units took part in the search which continued overnight into Thursday morning.

Family members were at the scene to greet Shannahan after he was found on Thursday.

He was being examined by paramedics after arriving at the search and rescue base camp.
