Man in 20s seriously injured after Scarborough shooting

Officials say a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in Scarborough late Wednesday morning.

Police said they were called to the area of Neilson Road and Sheppard Avenue at 11:24 a.m. for reports of the sound of a gunshot.

Insp. Paul MacIntyre told reporters the victim was found in the yard of his home on Blackwater Crescent.

“Somebody had phoned police stating that their son had been shot,” MacIntyre said.

“We arrived on scene just a short time later. We found a man in his mid-20s suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach.”
