HALIFAX – Three men were arraigned in Halifax provincial court Tuesday on 170 various charges, including participation in a criminal organization.

Cory Mitchell Jollimore, 22, Ryan Jeffries Marriott, 28, and Jason Patrick Marriott, 26, were arrested Monday at the courthouse, while appearing for another matter.

They were remanded overnight and appeared in Halifax court Tuesday. The three men will appear in court again on Wednesday for a bail hearing.

The charges come after a series of break-and-enters in the Halifax area, Lunenburg County and Colchester County. RCMP Sergeant Paul Robinson says there were approximately 30 break-and-enters and the suspects targeted cash, jewelry and electronics, such as laptops, iPods and iPads.

Robinson says investigators quickly saw similarities between the time of day, items being targeted and method of the various break-and-enters.

“In almost all of the investigations, pillowcases were removed from the house. We believe it was to transport stolen properties out of the house. Investigation revealed they referred to themselves as ‘pillowcase bandits’,” he said.
