Police probe reports of southwest sexual assault

UPDATE: 12 p.m. – Police say they have investigated, and are no longer treating this as a criminal matter.

CALGARY – The Calgary Police Sex Crimes Unit was called to investigating reports of a sexual assault near Westbrook Mall, early Tuesday Morning.

Investigators thought the attack may have occurred around 4 a.m. on the west side of the mall, in a delivery bay.

The alleged victim made her way to a coffee shop in the 1000 block of 17th Avenue S.W., where someone called police for her.

She was taken to hospital and treated for unknown injuries.
