Members of the Saskatoon Fire Department were called to the 400 block of Avenue I South shortly after 11 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Five fire trucks responded and arrived in less than three minutes, according to a statement.

Using the alley between houses, firefighters and police officers quickly responded and extinguished the flames, which left only charred and singed remnants in the backyard.

A fire department investigator was at the scene but wouldn’t comment about the cause or cost of the fire.

No one was hurt during the incident.

A fire investigator is working to identify the cause of the fire, which is believed to be suspicious.
