The driver of the SUV was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters and airlifted to hospital by STARS air ambulance.

The driver of the semi-truck was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

RCMP don’t believe alcohol or speed were factors, and allege the driver of the SUV made an unsafe left turn in front of the semi-truck.

Cochrane is located about 40 kilometers northwest of Calgary.
