EDMONTON- The mayor of Morinville passed away Sunday, after a battle with cancer.
Paul Krauskopf’s wife, Linda, confirmed he passed away around 1:30 p.m., after being admitted to hospital Sunday morning. She said her husband’s cancer had spread to his liver.
Krauskopf was born and raised in Morinville. He had only been the town’s mayor since last fall. Before that, he served on council for 15 years.
Krauskopf was heavily involved in his community, having been a part of Christmas Festival, Knights of Columbus, the St. Jean Baptiste Finance Committee and the RC Parish Hall Committee.
The 63-year-old leaves behind his wife, eight daughters and seven grandchildren.
