TORONTO — Food Network star Ted Allen announced Wednesday he is engaged to his longtime partner.
Allen, host of Chopped, shared the news on Twitter following the U.S. Supreme Court rulings on equal marriage rights.
“Proud to announce on this historic day that my partner of 20 years, Barry Rice, and I are engaged to be married,” he wrote.

Allen, 48, has been a judge on Iron Chef America on Food Network and was one of the stars of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
Celebrity chef Mario Batali reacted to the engagement news via Twitter. “Yay!”
Food Network cake master Duff Goldman tweeted: “Mazel Tov.”
On Wednesday, stars like Melissa Etheridge, Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell also announced wedding plans in wake of the Supreme Court decisions.
