Sheepdogs nominated twice for the 2013 WCMA

CALGARY – A handful of performers have received multiple nominations for the Western Canadian Music Awards.

Saskatoon rock band The Sheepdogs, Yukon Blonde, Hannah Georgas, Japandroids, JP Hoe and Rah Rah are up for two awards each when they’re handed out in Calgary on Oct. 6.

But it is Regina’s Jason Cullimore who leads with three nominations for classical composition, classical recording and instrumental recording of the year.

The awards cover a wide-range of musical genres including aboriginal, blues, country, classical, jazz, rock and pop.

Most of the multiple nominees are competing in the same categories.

Independent Album of the Year nominees are Georgas, Japandroids, JP Hoe, Rah Rah and Yukon Blonde.

The final jury and membership voting include MusicBC, Alberta Music, SaskMusic, Manitoba Music, Music NWT and Music Yukon.
