Woman dead after stabbing at home in Mississauga’s west end, police say

Peel Regional Police say a woman is dead after a stabbing at a home in Mississauga’s west end on Sunday.

Const. Danny Marttini said officers were called to the area of Ninth Line and Roadside Way, north of Eglinton Avenue, shortly before 12:30 p.m. for reports of a woman screaming.

Marttini said officers responded to a residence and located a woman who had been stabbed in the basement apartment of a home. The woman was pronounced dead.

“A male was also located at the residence. That individual was arrested,” Marttini said.

There is no word on the relationship between the victim and the suspect.

“There were two children that were present at the time of the incident, however they were unharmed and are in care right now,” Marttini added.

Homicide detectives have since taken over the investigation.
