Winnipeg police have identified the woman killed in a bus-pedestrian crash at a West End intersection Monday morning.
67-year-old Gittel Goertzen was walking across Portage Avenue Monday at about 11:20 when she was struck by a charter bus.
The yellow vehicle, owned by Tony’s Team Transport, had been driving north on Sherbrook and was turning east onto Portage, on a green light. Goertzen was walking north across Portage, also with the green light.
Police say the driver of the bus likely didn’t see the woman. No charges have been laid yet; officers say the investigation is not yet complete.
