Rainfall warnings ended for surrounding Saskatoon areas

SASKATOON – Environment Canada has ended rainfall warnings for areas of central Saskatchewan.

The federal agency said a slow moving low-pressure system was generating widespread rainfall across the Martensville region.

Another 10 to 15 mm was expected for the remaining areas under rainfall warnings.

Some light showers may persist into Sunday morning before the system clears.

Heavy rainfall has fallen in the Prince Albert region and parts of the northern Martensville region. Combined rainfall totals for Thursday night and Friday come to 59 mm in Prince Albert and 116 mm for Waskesiu Lake.

Rain has already forced some closures and postponements in Saskatoon.
