A man has been taken to hospital in life-threatening condition after a house fire in the northeast Calgary neighbourhood of Temple on Sunday.
EMS said at around 10:20 a.m., paramedics were called to the 100 block of Templeby Drive N.E. for a house fire.
“Crews were met with a large volume of smoke and flames, and began an aggressive attack on the fire,” said Calgary Fire Department Battalion Chief Paul Frederick, adding that the fire extended from the main floor of the home to the attic.

According to EMS spokesperson Stuart Brideaux, when fire crews entered the home, they found a man on the main level. He was rushed to Peter Lougheed Centre in critical condition.
EMS said no one else was in the house.

The CFD said police, ATCO and ENMAX were on scene.
The cause is under investigation.
