CALGARY – Investigators are looking into a fire that sparked at a home in Spruce Cliff, Monday night.
It started in the basement of a house on 37th Street and Spruce Dr. S.W. around 11 p.m.
Firefighters broke a basement window and started spraying water inside.
Once they tackled that part of the fire, they were able to enter the home and put out the rest.
As a precaution, the houses on either side of the home were temporarily evacuated.
The first two floors of the four-level split were damaged.
Neighbours say the home had been vacant for some time.
Investigators say at this point they don’t believe the fire is suspicious in nature.
At this time, no estimate of damage is available and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
