CALGARY – After eight years with the Calgary Police Service, police dog Pix is putting up his paws and retiring.
The service dog joined CPS in 2004 when he was just eight-weeks-old.
Since then, Pix has been deployed over 1,000 times – assisting in the arrest of hundreds of criminals.
Police say one time the heroic dog kept hold of one suspect while another attacked him with a golf club.
His last day with Calgary police is Friday, the same day another dog is graduating from training and joining the service.
