Meadow Lake RCMP member charged with mischief

MEADOW LAKE, Sask. – A member of the Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan RCMP detachment has been charged after a vehicle was damaged on a First Nation.

A complaint was received on March 19 that four tires on a vehicle at the Waterhen Lake First Nation had been damaged the previous day.

Following an investigation by the North Battleford General Investigation Section and an opinion from Saskatchewan Justice, Corporal Shawn Irwin, 36, was charged with mischief.

Irwin, police dog handler and an 11 year member of the RCMP, was served a summons.

He is scheduled to appear in court on June 24.

Irwin is currently on administrative duties.

An internal code of conduct has also been ordered.
