Tornado touches down near Carbon, Alta.

A tornado touched down west of Drumheller, Alta., on Tuesday, according to Environment Canada.

The agency confirmed a twister hit eight kilometres south of Carbon at 2:15 p.m.

Its preliminary rating was EF0.

Though wind speeds ranged between 90 and 130 km/h, there was no damage reported, Environment Canada said.

It was Alberta’s 23rd tornado of 2019.
