Calgary police arrest man wanted in connection with ‘sexually motivated’ break and enters

Calgary police have arrested a man they say was wanted on warrants for “sexually motivated” break and enters.

Police said a man allegedly broke into two homes in the southeast and confronted two women on Sunday.

At 6:30 a.m., a woman woke to a man standing over her in bed in the 0 to 100 block of Fonda Drive S.E., according to police. The man reportedly ran when the woman woke up.

At 12:30 p.m., a woman stepped out of her shower and found a man in her home, located in the 1800 block of 42 Street S.E., police said. The man ran away when the woman confronted him, according to police.

Police said an investigation identified the man as Paul Barrett, 20.

Investigators said Monday morning that Barrett was arrested in the downtown area on Sunday night and faces charges of breaking and entering with intent.
