Charges laid after shots fired on Enoch Cree Nation

EDMONTON- Two men have been charged, and RCMP are looking for a third man, after shots were fired on the Enoch Cree Nation.

RCMP were called shortly before 11:00 p.m. Saturday, after shots were fired outside a home on the Enoch Cree Nation.

Witnesses told police two youth were being chased by three adult males when a sawed off firearm was discharged into the air.

“We used police dog services and we were able to apprehend two of the three adult males. Two males have been charged. The third has a warrant out for his arrest,” said Cpl. Colette Zazulak with Spruce Grove/Stony Plain RCMP.

Troy Ward, 19, and Christopher Bruno, 21, both of Enoch, were arrested and taken into police custody.

Officers have now issued a warrant for the arrest of 22-year-old Shay Soosay of Enoch.

“We are anxious to apprehend this individual,” Zazulak said Sunday afternoon.

Ward and Bruno have been charged with numerous offences including possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, careless use of a firearm and two counts each of pointing a firearm.

Ward and Bruno are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, May 8th.
