Three adults and three children were transported to the hospital with injuries following a two-vehicle collision that occurred on the 9th Line between Yonge Street and 10 Sideroad in Innisfil on Wednesday morning.
A pickup truck and a sedan collided head-on after one vehicle crossed the centre line on the roadway, Sgt. Deborah Smith of the South Simcoe Police Service told Global News.
Smith said at this point in time, she’s unable to say which vehicle crossed the centre line.
In the Volkswagen Jetta sedan, there were two adults, 23 and 27, and two children, 2 and 8. In the Ford F-150 pickup truck, there was one adult, 50, and one child, 16.
“The driver of the sedan was airlifted to a Toronto hospital, and the passenger of the sedan was taken to a local hospital and subsequently also airlifted down to Toronto,” Smith said.

Both occupants in the pickup truck and both children in the sedan were transported to a local hospital, Smith added, but one of the children from the sedan was subsequently transported by land ambulance to a Toronto hospital.
Both occupants who were in the pickup truck were treated for minor injuries and released. The two-year-old child in the sedan was also released from a local hospital.
All three individuals who were transported to Toronto trauma centres are in serious but stable condition.
The pickup truck and sedan are both extremely damaged from the collision.

“Both vehicles ended up in the south ditch of the roadway,” Smith added.
The section of 9th Line between Yonge Street and 10 Sideroad has reopened after it was closed for several hours Wednesday.
