Police identify Thunder Bay homicide victim

The victim in a homicide investigation in Thunder Bay has been identified, police say.

Thunder Bay OPP say on Jan. 13, a body was located on the shoulder of Highway 527 just north of the junction of highways 11 and 17.

Police have now identified the deceased as 21-year-old Samatar Warsame from the Greater Toronto area.

Officers say the investigation has been ruled a homicide and foul play has been confirmed.

According to police, the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
