Calgary police have released photos of a whopping $75,000 worth of drugs seized in an ongoing operation they said was targeting local meth dealers.

The investigation launched in February after police received tips from the public about violent crime near a home in the community of Forest Lawn.

In mid-March, officers searched two homes in the 2400 block of 43 Street S.E, taking 20 people into custody.

Police said the following was seized from the homes:

  • 685 grams of methamphetamine
  • 47.2 grams of crack cocaine
  • 15.7 grams of powdered cocaine
  • 30 millilitres of GHB
  • Over 1,000 prescription pills
  • “Small amounts” of heroin and fentanyl
  • $5,500 cash
  • Various weapons including two replica firearms, a collapsible baton, a taser and two large, edged weapons
The Calgary Police Service has charged three people and seized approximately $75,000 worth of drugs as a result of an investigation targeting methamphetamine dealers in Calgary.

Calgary police have charged three people with numerous drug and weapons-related offences.

Richard Wayne Llewellyn, 52, of Calgary, is scheduled to appear in court on March 27.

Raymond Edward Robert Bennett, 27, of Calgary, is scheduled to appear in court on April 4.

Irvin Lee Frederick Palmer, 57, of Calgary, appeared in court on Wednesday.

In a news release, the Calgary Police Service said the investigation launched as a result of the Daylight Initiative.
