The warmest days so far of 2019 come with a block of beautiful blue skies and sunshine this week.
Saskatoon forecast
Monday
After a warm weekend with daytime highs getting up to 2 C both Saturday and Sunday with morning lows sliding into the minus teens, the third week of March kicked off on a mild note.
Temperatures dipped back to -6 to start the day with wind chills making it feel like -11, but the region quickly warmed up to the freezing mark before noon in the sun.
Beautiful blue skies and sunshine stick around all afternoon as the mercury climbs up to 3 or 4 degrees for a daytime high.
Monday night
Mostly clear skies stick around during the evening before a few clouds filter through overnight as conditions cool back to around -7 with the chance of some fog patches developing.
Tuesday
-13 is around what it’ll feel like with wind chill as you’re heading out the door Tuesday morning with a few clouds to start the day, but those will quickly clear out.

By mid-morning, beautiful blue skies will be back in full swing as temperatures swing all the way up to around +5 for a daytime high.
Wednesday-Friday
A block of blue skies and sunshine will engulf the entire rest of the week as a major upper ridge of high pressure builds into Western Canada just in time for spring to begin at 3:58 p.m. CST on Wednesday.
Overnight lows will still fall into mid-minus single digits with a risk of fog patches developing as moisture gets injected from melting snow and evaporating puddles with daytime highs as warm as 8 or 9 degrees.
Weekend outlook
There is some uncertainty with the weekend forecast, but at this point Saturday is shaping up to be mostly sunny with clouds and risk of precipitation on Sunday with daytime highs in the 8 to 9 degree range.
