A suspected car thief is behind bars after a Sunday morning chase in West Kildonan.

Police said a vehicle had been reported stolen from a Main Street business, where it was left running, around 3 a.m.

According to police, the owner spotted the vehicle around 10:25 a.m. the same day in the 800 block of Leila Avenue, after tracking it with a phone app.

When the accused saw the vehicle’s owner, he fled the scene, leading to a foot chase.
