Young offender sought in stabbing outside Prince Albert, Sask. sports facility

Police are searching for a young offender accused of stabbing someone outside a sports facility in Prince Albert, Sask.

An assault was initially reported at the main doors of the facility in the unit block of 28th Street West at 7:30 p.m. on March 13.

A person suffering from stab wounds was found and taken to Victoria Hospital. The victim is currently listed in stable condition.

Prince Albert police said the stabbing was not a random act and both people are known to each other.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the young offender. Anyone with information is asked to contact Prince Albert police at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Police said the stabbing was not connected with the activity going on in the facility at the time.
