The Kingston community is mourning the death of a longtime radio announcer, who died Tuesday following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Brian Scott died at Providence Care Hospital with family by his side.

The 56 year-old’s radio career spanned almost four decades and brought him to Kingston in 2003, when he worked for 98.3 FLY FM.

His career began in his hometown of Chatham Ont., and he would later be hired to work at radio stations in London, Ottawa, Toronto and Kingston.

Scott leaves behind his wife Deborah and daughter Logan.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
