People in West Vancouver opposed to that B-line bus route woke up to good news on Tuesday morning.

West Van council voted Monday night to keep the rapid transit route out of the Ambleside and Dundarave business districts, for now.

District staff will look at alternate options, but a bus-only lane will not be one of them.

This comes after three months of debate on the issue, with opponents saying the elimination of parking along Marine Drive would hurt local businesses, and proponents saying better transit would bring more foot traffic to those businesses.
