The first above freezing temperatures in over 40 days are on the way in Saskatoon.
Saskatoon forecast
Monday
After a weekend with minus single digit daytime highs, -20 overnight lows and -30 morning wind chills, an even more substantial warm up has rolled in for the second week of March.
Temperatures stayed in the minus teens Monday morning with wind chills as cool as -23 to start the week, but a breezy southerly wind brought in minus single digits before noon.
The mercury keeps climbing during the afternoon under mostly cloudy skies with a daytime high around -2.
Monday night
Partly-to-mostly cloudy skies linger Monday night as conditions cool back toward minus double digits.
Tuesday
-14 is the mild morning wind chill you can expect as you’re heading out the door Tuesday morning before a major warm-up during the day under mostly cloudy skies.
Temperatures are expected to climb all the way up above freezing by a degree or two for the first time in 42 days!
Wednesday-Friday
Temperatures should climb back up toward and possibly even above zero again on Wednesday before a weak cold front gradually drops daytime highs back below freezing to finish the week.
Skies will start off mostly cloudy on Wednesday with some late day clearing kicks in before sunshine returns on Thursday before clouds return with a chance of flurries to finish the week on Friday.
Weekend outlook
Clouds linger into the day on Saturday before some sunny breaks return through the weekend as daytime highs hop back toward and potentially even above the freezing mark once again.
