Nicki Minaj was scheduled to play the Arkéa Arena in Bordeaux, France, last Saturday, however, the long-awaited performance was cancelled only hours before the rapper was set to hit the stage.
The cancellation came as a result of “technical issues.” According to Minaj, the venue reportedly could not provide enough power for her stage show.
This is already the second cancellation that has occurred throughout the short Eurasian leg of the highly-anticipated ‘Nicki Wlrd’ tour, which serves as the support for her latest album, Queen (2018).
The Good Form rapper quickly took to her social media accounts to address the situation to her fans. “I’m so sorry you guys,” she wrote in an Instagram post. She followed up with a video to detail what had happened.
“These two cities that had technical issues were cities that I’ve never been to before,” she continued.” We tried to add them, but they just didn’t have the power in the building to facilitate my show.”
Minaj, 36, revealed that the venue gave them the thumbs up after soundcheck, but later decided that they couldn’t handle the production.
In wake of the cancellation, many outraged fans began chanting “Cardi B” repeatedly as the already-barren venue began to empty.
“They didn’t tell us that until 3 hours before the show as opposed to once we did soundtrack,” claimed Minaj. “Anyway, every artist has technical difficulties and has to cancel shows.”
She was also set to co-headline the Ondrej Nepela Arena in Bratislava, Slovakia, with American rapper, Juice Wrld. “I wanna tell you guys that I love you dearly and I really hope to make it up very soon,” she concluded.
A statement was issued by a spokesperson from Bordeaux’s Arkéa Arena via various social media platforms. “The Arkéa Arena in Bordeaux is refusing tonight’s show for technical reasons,” they wrote in French.
“Nicki Minaj & Juice Wrld were in the venue on standby and were ready to perform,” they continued. “Gerard Drouot Productions and Nicki Minaj regret the venue’s decision not to allow us to perform tonight’s show.”
Full refunds have been offered to fans who had tickets to attend either of the two cancelled performances.

Fans from all across Europe travelled to see Minaj perform that night and many were devastated upon hearing the news.
A number of sad, frustrated and altogether upset fans took to Twitter to share their dread.
B***h, you didn’t even show up in Bordeaux,” claimed one furious user. “It’s your job, you just had to show up. You didn’t even come and say it was due to technical issues at 10 p.m.
“B***h, go f**k yourself,” they continued. “I want a transport and hostel refund. 10 hours travel, b***h.”
