A Nova Scotia firefighter has been transported to hospital after receiving a serious injury at the Nova Scotia Firefighters School in Waverley, N.S.

The school sent out a short statement from its Twitter account on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred on Saturday during training at the school.

The school says the firefighter received immediate medical attention from staff members before being transported to hospital.

The school says the incident is currently under investigation.
